The Botanical Garden is a ‘living monument’, a veritable nucleus of science and culture, dedicated to exploration of the relationship between nature and culture, as well as to the research and interpretation of its own heritage. Its collections include living plants, historical artefacts, plant species and documents of inestimable value, all telling the story of how this treasure chest of biodiversity has evolved over time.

Valorization of the Garden relies not only on the activities and the various events included in its cultural programme, but also on projects of a structural nature, aimed at revealing and looking after its historical, artistic, naturalistic and documentary heritage; creating, rediscovering and researching new content intended for public consumption; and implementing actions that will channel its universal value into practical, daily commitment in terms of improving the environment that surrounds us.
