Requests to use and reproduce images of the Botanical Garden

The University of Padua retains control over rights of use deriving from video and photo shoots carried out on the premises, likewise the reproduction of images and archive material.

As a rule, image use requests relating to the Botanical Garden should be submitted at least 30 days before the scheduled event or intended reproduction, addressed to comunicazione.orto@unipd.it and using the forms downloadable from this page.

As specified under Rules governing the temporary use of rooms and spaces and for granting permission to utilize and reproduce images owned by the University of Padua (Title III – see bottom of page), priority is given when issuing any such authorization to subjects and events, public or private, of high scientific and cultural value.

When organizing photo shoots not of scientific or cultural nature, and promotional or business events, due regard must be given to the historical, cultural and artistic importance of the location. If authorized, such activities will normally take place outside public opening hours, or in any event without affecting the accessibility of services and itineraries intended for visitors.

Permission cannot be granted to use images for events promoted by political or party organizations and for openly political or faith-based gatherings. Photo shoots connected with weddings, birthday parties and other special private and family celebrations are not permitted.

A table of rates — downloadable from this page — indicates the types of activities permitted, the spaces that can be hired, the fees payable and the services guaranteed by the University of Padua.

Income deriving from venue hire fees are used for upkeep and development of the Site, for the provision of educational and cultural activities, and for valorization of the historical, artistic and natural heritage of the Botanical Garden.
