Lilac

The first two lilac branches were collected by the teacher and passionate naturalist Luigi Stalio, who sent a large amount of material to De Visiani over the years. The specimen at the bottom of the sheet was collected by Joseph Pantocsek in 1872 at “Billeki”, perhaps the village of Bilice in Croatia. Below but not visible is the Flora Dalmatica label indicating that lilac is present in various towns in Croatia.
