Roundleaf geranium

This geranium grows in gardens, fields and vegetable gardens in all regions of Italy. This fruiting specimen was not determined by de Pisis, not even to genus level. The plant comes from Ferrara “sulle Mura, in città e dintorni” (“on the walls, in the city and its surroundings”) and in his remarks the young man wrote “vedi per la flora ruderale” (“see for the ruderal flora”), in other words, plants growing on buildings or roads.
